Studio Update 30 December 2022

Written by γƒγƒŠγƒ«γƒ‰ on . Posted in .

It was quite a journey this year. If you see from what I came until the day of today; it’s A-mazing and a bit unbelievable πŸ™‚

I had a rough idea of what I was getting into in June and I am very satisfied with the result. I also expected to be ready with my office in the attic, but I didn’t manage to do that. So it will be next year. Hope to be ready with the office and 3D printer room around April, depending on the weather and other workload.

In August 2017 we moved into this house and the studio looked like this:

Shortly before the renovation it looked like this:

In this post I share the latest updates in the studio, and you’ll see the result for this year.

I sanded the old bedroom door and used that as lower board for the workbench and I added a storage space for rods and profiles in the corner. This I made from cardboard tubes and a 3D printed fitting on top. And in this corner I mounted a board for the most important machine in the studio; the Senseo Coffee Maker πŸ™‚

I painted the second Ikea cabinet.

I’ve put my nixie clock in the studio. I made this clock in 2021.

My Shinko thickness-planer arrived and I made a small cart for it:

This week I made the workbench around my table-saw, on top of the old kitchen table:

Today I did some more finishing, made a cart for the Camvac dust collector. I used the CNC to route a sleeve in the board, otherwise the total set was a bit to high to fit under the lathe:

And here is the overview at the end of today:

The studio is small and I tried to get as much as possible equipment into it. In Feb. the bandsaw arrives, but no further big machines will be added. There is no space left, but I also don’t need anything more.

Tomorrow I start creating wooden molecule models, 1000 spheres arrived this week. Start to drill holes in them, paint them and start building! I already made the jigs to drill the holes at the correct angles in the spheres:

I also am working on my new website to sell the molecule models. And this week I created some prototypes of elements to create the complete Periodic Table of Elements. I made them with the CNC and hand-painted them.

That it for this year! I wish you all a very healthy and prosperous 2023, thanks for reading my updates πŸ™‚

またね (Until next time),
